How To Talk About Art

In the summer of 2019 I started recording videos in my studio and posting them to my YouTube channel. This was in part to help my current students, but also to reach out over the webs and perhaps help some non-local painters. My goal was to eventually offer some virtual classes. (Little did I know that less than a year later all of my classes would be virtual!)

My YouTube videos started out as “Studio Time with Tabetha”, morphed into “Wednesday Art Snacks”, and finally landed at “Tabetha’s Art Tips.” The name has changed, but I’m still there in my studio talking to you about art.

…uuunleeess I’m not: yesterday I found that I hadn’t even put out ONE Art Tips video in 2022!!

So I’m back with another episode! Today’s topic: How to Talk About Art

Talking about art is something that a lot of people are just not comfortable with - even artists can be uncomfortable talking about art!

I used to feel that way, myself. Being self-taught I felt like I really wasn't qualified to discuss art. But over the years I realized that you don't need hoity-toity "art speak" to talk about art; you just need an opinion and to be able to express that opinion.

In the video below I give you a few key phrases that will help you to get the conversation started!
