We meet on Zoom Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons to work on our own projects in a group. Get feedback on what you’re working on (if you like). I’m there working on my own paintings, and available for help when needed.

My Background

Art can be a powerful tool for transformation.

The artist is transformed by the act of creating, and the viewer can be transformed by connecting with the art.

I’ve been moved to tears standing in front of a painting in a museum. The fact that a painter who lived hundreds of years ago can still communicate through art tells you that it’s a powerful medium. You may be moved by a painting and have no idea why. And what moves you, may not move someone else.

That’s the beauty of art.

I live, love, and breathe art and creativity - it's my life!

But it wasn’t always that way. In fact, until the age of thirty I would say “I don’t have a creative bone in my body.”

So why did I start painting at age thirty? Well, several roads let me to art, but the biggest one was inheriting my sister's art supplies after her death. I had been interested in art, but somehow painting with her supplies...well, let's just say I painted through my grief. And then I kept painting. For the last 26 years I’ve painted through pain and joy, and now a pandemic. Painting has kept me sane; painting, and my art community.

I now teach painting and creativity to a thriving online community.

My Classes

I try to balance teaching painting technique with giving students room to express themselves and make their paintings their own. I demonstrate techniques, answer questions, and give feedback.
I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to paint; I help my students find their unique voice in the paint.

In addition to teaching painting, I also host an Artist’s Way + Art Journaling class series, art retreats, offer private painting lessons and more!

I’d love to help you transform your life through art and creativity!

My Online Art Community

When the pandemic hit, I closed my physical art studio and started teaching online. Nothing could have prepared me for the sense of connection and community that can be achieved over a Zoom call!

Not to mention that in many ways learning online is better than learning in person:

  • When I’m teaching online, the camera is focused on my painting and my hands, so you can see everything super close!

  • You have access to class recordings

  • You don’t have to leave the comfort of home to race across town in rush hour traffic

  • People from anywhere in the world can take an online class! How about taking a class with your friend from the other side of the country?

I know have a great community on my teaching platform at PaintThroughIt.com!

It’s home to my discounted monthly class memberships, as well as other courses I teach, and some free content as well!
