Art Without Judgement or Overthinking

I host online art journaling sessions on Thursday evenings, and to be honest, they can be challenging. We write about a topic, make art on that topic, share and discuss, all in an hour and a half.

It's actually a really great exercise, because there is no no time to overthink, no right or wrong, and no judgement.

Sometimes I make something I like, sometimes not. But I've always expressed myself, and feel better. Art has a way of doing that.

At the end of the session, I've very often learned something about myself, and my fellow journalers.

Because of the time constraint, I have to go with my intuition. Which is exactly what happened last night. The topic, of course, was intuition.

This picture is the art that showed up in my journal. How is it about intuition? I guess that's up to you, the viewer to decide.

And that is what I truly love about art journaling! The final page does not have to obviously be about the topic. Sometimes even the artist doesn’t know the link between the art and the topic.
