Are you a woman who craves the time and space to work on her art?

Does spending time with a small group of creative women sound amazing to you?

Are you ready to find your style as an artist, and create work that is authentically YOU?

This is the time and place to really dig into your artist self, and find out how to take your work to the next level.

That next level will be different for everyone, and I will meet you where you are in your artistic journey.

There’s truly no place like New Mexico. It's alive with vibrant color, rich culture, and art at every turn. But if I had to choose just one thing that captures my heart most, it’s the sky—the endless, open sky that shifts and dances with the light.

The landscape is a painter’s dream. The rugged mountains, desert foliage, and stunning adobe architecture constantly call me back to the canvas. And then, of course, there’s the food, bursting with flavor, and the art—oh, the art! Santa Fe is an artist's haven, brimming with galleries, museums, and creative energy.

This retreat is all about soaking in that magic, drawing inspiration from the land, and translating it into your own art. It's a feast for the senses and an experience you'll carry with you long after you've left the desert.

Art is so much more than a way to create something beautiful—it’s a powerful tool for connection,
self-expression,
and understanding the
world around us.

At its core, art is how we express what we feel about a place, a moment, or a subject. Whether we’re conscious of it or not, our thoughts and emotions pour into every brushstroke. Even our subconscious finds its way into our work, revealing the layers of who we are.

As artists, we each hold a unique perspective on the world, and we get to share that view through our art. Our emotions, physical limitations, experiences (or lack thereof), histories, beliefs, values, triumphs, and heartbreaks—all of it goes into our work. And when we combine that with our surroundings, the colors, textures, and sights we take in, it becomes our "secret sauce"—the magic that makes our art truly our own.

Let’s dive into that together.

In workshops with me, Tabetha Landt, you’ll discover more about your creative process, what makes your “secret sauce” special, and how to loosen up, so you can create paintings that are uniquely yours.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You can’t seem to carve out time or space to work on your art.

  • You would like to “loosen up” with your painting, but find you get stuck in the details.

  • You crave freedom and time to recharge and nurture your creativity.

  • You’d like to let your hair down, have some fun and really connect with other creative women.

  • You draw inspiration from nature, being around art and other artists.

Imagine how you would feel after spending six amazing days in the company of other creatives, sharing not only transformative experiences but also their collective wisdom.

Imagine spending evenings staring at the stars, away from the light pollution of the city.

Imagine waking up in the country, rolling out of bed and sipping the perfect cup of coffee in the morning sun. Then having breakfast at your leisure, and then heading out into a lovely courtyard to create art with a small group of (new) friends.

On this retreat we’ll gather together to make art, share amazing meals, experiences, and honor ourselves, our inner artists and each other.

Together, we are SO much more than the sum of our parts, and we can learn and grow in community.

Workshops and
Art-Making

We’ll dive into workshops that help you uncover your creative process and why it’s key to your growth as an artist. You’ll explore the ingredients that make up your unique "secret sauce"—the qualities that set you apart. Plus, we’ll focus on loosening up in your painting, giving you the freedom to create compositions that are authentically yours.

Each day, we’ll also have plein air painting sessions in the beautiful courtyard at the ranch, along with group art projects to spark collaboration and inspiration!

Art Making Experiences Included:

  • Daily painting with personal coaching from Tabetha.

  • Plein air painting on the grounds at Rancho Gallina.

  • Cheerleading and support from Tabetha and and the whole group!

  • Group art projects.

  • Workshops on how to get the best painting while working with your own personal style (or finding your style, if you don’t know what your style is!)

  • Workshops in loosening up and not getting bogged down in the details.

  • Mixed media workshop

Where We’ll Stay and How We’ll Eat

We are staying at the Rancho Gallina Eco-Retreat!

Rancho Gallina is a lovely site that used to be a working ranch. It’s been transformed by the current owners into an eco-friendly retreat center.

From the Rancho Gallina website:

The ranch combines the rustic charm of classic New Mexico architecture with modern luxury.  Features include:

  • Beamed ceilings, saltillo tile floors, romantic Kiva fireplaces, private baths, private and shared verandas and courtyards

  • Luxurious down bedding and high quality linens

  • Kitchens/kitchenettes stocked with fresh, locally-roasted coffee

  • Cedar soaking hot tub, fireplaces, courtyard fish pond, multiple hammocks.

  • Farm-fresh, organic meals from our French culinary school-trained chef/owners

  • Wifi throughout (but we encourage you to unplug, unwind and relax)

  • Outfitting for the active relaxers (daypacks, water bottles, maps, etc.) and plain old relaxers (board games and paperbacks)

The ranch house offers five unique rooms, three of which can accommodate double occupancy if you'd like to share and save a little money. (Please note that both occupants must be retreat participants.)

Each room has its own charm, and while all come with a bathroom, please note that the Silverado room shares a bathroom with our indoor art studio during studio hours.

In addition to the ranch house there are three rooms in the barn. Each have private bedrooms but share a full bath and an additional half bath.

You'll have the option to choose your room when you pay your deposit.

Meals 🍽️

Breakfasts
Our wonderful hosts will stock our community kitchen with an array of fresh, local treats: vibrant fruit, homemade granola, bread, fresh eggs, and all the breakfast goodies! And of course, locally roasted coffee and a variety of teas will be on hand. We’re happy to accommodate special diets too!

Lunches
Most of our lunches will be enjoyed at local restaurants during our excursions into Santa Fe. On the days we’re at the ranch, the kitchen will be well-stocked with plenty of options, plus there’s always the bonus of delicious leftovers from the night before!

Dinners
Our amazing chef hosts will prepare five of our mouthwatering dinners, offering fresh, flavorful meals right at the ranch. (Including a celebratory “barn party” dinner on our final night!)

We’ll also head into town for a few dinners as part of our Santa Fe adventures, giving us the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy the local restaurant scene!

A note about Rancho Gallina from our hosts

“Rancho Gallina is a rural ranch, with resident pets and chickens, honey bees and neighboring horses. While we use only eco cleaning products and have mitigated toxins and allergens to the best of our ability, the ranch is not equipped for people with extreme allergies or environmental sensitivity.”

If you have any questions about this retreat, and whether it’s for you, please get on Tabetha’s schedule for a free Zoom consultation.

Getting to Rancho Gallina

Santa Fe has a very small airport, but you’ll likely get better prices if you fly in to Albuquerque. From there you can either take a 1-hour shuttle to Santa Fe, or rent a car (recommended.) The ranch is 20 minutes south of Santa Fe, so the retreat will require some driving to get from place to place.

Check-in time is 3pm on September 1

Check-out time is 11am on September 8
